The Holstein Friesian bull Nextgen Eimer was the most widely used bull in 2019.
The bull was bred by Teagasc Moorepark and racked up almost 43,000 serves, or nearly 5% of the total number of AI serves recorded.
Between them, the top five most used bulls account for over 22% of total AI serves.

After Nextgen Eimer (FR2460), the most used bulls were Diamond Anton (FR2239), Oldcastle Ronaldo (FR2298), Craigtown Tornado (FR4338) and Gabriel Zoro (FR4337).
According to the ICBF, the total number of inseminations recorded in 2019 was 855,859, which is up 6% on 2018 levels.
All the bulls in the top 10 most-used list are owned by NCBC and are distributed through Munster Bovine and Progressive Genetics.
