The ICBF stock bull finder is an online tool that profiles bulls for sale from pedigree breeders participating in Whole Herd Performance Recording.
It has recorded huge usage in the past week, as farmers look for new ways to source stock bulls. Some 2,800 individual farmers clicked onto the ICBF bull finding application in the five days from 21 to 26 March. This is the highest weekly number of visits since the stock bull finder was launched. All of the bulls have their most up to date figures displayed, including calving difficulty and all index values.

Speaking to the Irish Farmers Journal, Pat Donnellan of the ICBF said: “This is where the stock bull finder comes into its own, as each bull has been weighed by ICBF in addition to many of them also having been weighed by their owners.There is a lot of weight data on these bulls as well as them having been physically assessed by an ICBF scorer. In addition to this, many breeders have also uploaded bull photos and comments on their stock.”
More than 2,000 bulls across all the main beef breeds are available to view in a virtual ring online. Prospective purchasers can sort bulls based on location, breeder, breed and index.
