This year’s Tullamore Show has been cancelled. The show was due to take place on Sunday 9 August 2020.
The Irish Farmers Journal understands that the organisers are taking the decision now to give maximum notice. Previously, the show had to be cancelled at the last minute due to exceptional rainfall.
With an annual attendance of 60,000, Tullamore is Ireland’s largest livestock show, with a plethora of breed championships and the shop window for our top pedigree and commercial cattle.

Massive blow
Cancellation is a massive blow for pedigree and commercial breeders, many of whom would class this show as the pinnacle in the showing year.
It is also a blow for agribusinesses, as the show attracts hundreds of trade stands each year.
With Balmoral Show having been put back to later in the year from its May date, this latest announcement doesn’t bode well for many other local shows taking place around the country in July and August.
