As summer agricultural shows continue to announce cancellations, the Irish Shows Association (ISA) has thanked the Department of Rural and Community Development for allowing them to carry over grant funding into next year.
Every year, the Department grants up to €600,000 to local shows to help them cope with running and insurance costs.

“The Department has agreed that grant funding issued for 2020 can be ring-fenced and held in trust until 2021 for shows that are unable to run this year,” the ISA said.
The association added that it was working with a number of early shows to see if they could be rescheduled for later in the year.
