We have been getting some great food videos in for Kids in the Kitchen, so thank you to everyone for getting involved!
It’s wonderful to see children helping their mams and dads in the kitchen while they’re home from school.
They’re picking up essential life skills, which are just as important as learning maths and how to read and write. And we love sharing what the kids have been up to in the kitchen.

The Dinneen family are a great bunch of chefs – we recently featured Áine and her decadent chocolate raspberry brownies. Now her big sister Méabh will share how to make her favourite cheesy scones.
Meabh Dinneen is eight years old.
With cheesemakers as parents, eight-year-old Méabh has no problem getting locally-sourced cheddar for this recipe. Stay tuned for the youngest Dinneen, Tadhg, who will also share a recipe later on this week.
The scones look delicious, Méabh.
If you have a budding chef in your house and you and your child would like to share what they're cooking, we'd love to hear about it. Send your videos to icl@farmersjournal.ie or Whatsapp to 089-249 9922.
Méabh's Cheesy Scones
Ingredients
225g self raising flour
150ml milk
Pinch of salt
25g caster sugar
25g butter
50g grated cheddar cheese
1 tsp mustard
Directions
1. Preheat your oven to 220C and line a baking sheet with parchment.
2. In a bowl, sieve the flour, salt and caster sugar. Add the butter and rub the mixture with your fingers until it resembles coarse crumbs. Add the cheddar cheese and sieve the powdered mustard. Mix well.
3. Add the milk and mix until it just comes together (don't overmix the dough). Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and roll out to about 1 1/2 inch thickness.
4. Cut out the scones and place on the baking tray. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
5. Bake for eight to 10 minutes, until the scones are cooked through and golden brown. Enjoy!
