Farmers are being warned to take care of their safety on farms as fatality figures show that seven people have died on farms this year.
This tally includes children and farmers have also been advised to take care of their families as days lengthen and children are at home as schools are closed during the pandemic.

“Over the last 10 years, accidents related to tractors, vehicles and machinery accounted for almost 50% of fatalities. Provisional HSA figures show that seven persons have lost their lives due to farm workplace-related accidents up to 23 April 2020,” Teagasc said.
“Key areas needing attention are tractor and machinery injuries.”
