A man in his 20s was brought to Cork University Hospital on Tuesday morning following an accident on a farm in Co Cork.

In a statement, gardaí said they were investigating the workplace accident which occurred at 7am at a farm in Vicarstown. It is understood a silage harvester was involved in the incident.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) said it was aware of the incident and was looking into the circumstances.

Mayo accident

Over the weekend, a man in his 30s was injured when a tractor he was operating overturned at Breaffy, Castlebar, Co Mayo.

He was taken Mayo University Hospital by air ambulance where his injuries are described as non-life-threatening.
