A pedigree bull has been put down following a dog attack in Co Tipperary.
North Tipperary IFA chair Imelda Walsh said the farmer affected was very distressed by the incident and insisted that dogs should be kept under control by their owners.
According to Walsh, the farmer was woken up by noises coming from the farmyard and went out to discover a number of dogs running away from a field containing one of his bulls.

Walsh said that dog owners need to realise that they are liable for livestock losses if their dogs attacked animals.
