Farmers in Donegal received the highest average payment from Areas of Natural Constraint (ANC) payments last year.
On average, they were paid €2,874.17, followed by Kerry farmers who received €2,378.49 and Wicklow farmers who got €2,801.44.
Overall, just over 99,000 farmers were paid across the country and the average payment was €2,492.42.
The information came to light in response to a parliamentary question asked by Sinn Féin's agriculture spokesperson Matt Carthy.
The highest proportion of farmers claiming ANC are in Galway and Mayo, with over 11,000 farmers eligible for payment in both counties.
Some €250m was set aside for payments for farmers in Areas of Natural Constraint (ANC) last year.
Although 104,636 farmers were deemed eligible for the payment, just 99,104 received payment, meaning just over €247m was spent on ANC.
