Heavy rain with accumulations of between 30 and 50mm are forecast for Donegal, Galway and Mayo on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rainfall warning for these three counties, warning of potentially higher amounts in mountainous areas.
Localised flooding, poor visibility and poor driving conditions are expected.

The warning is in place from 1pm on Tuesday until 1pm on Wednesday.
The outlook for the rest of the week remains unsettled. Thursday is forecast to be dry in most areas with a mix of cloud and sunny spells, with patches of mist, drizzle and fog to develop in southern and western coastal areas. Maximum temperatures of 18°C to 21°C are expected.
The outlook for to next weekend is uncertain but current indications suggest the weather will be unsettled but quite warm.
