The powers that be in Brussels are attempting to ban lead ammunition in European wetlands as they say the bullets are harmful to the environment.

All well and good, except the Gun Association here has pointed out that almost all of Ireland is classed as a “wetland” meaning up to 100,000 farmers would find their guns unusable.

A vote is taking place in Brussels next week and we hear the Germans are likely to swing it in favour of the ban.
