It is great fun using the drill to take it apart and put it together. It’s good fun to play with the tractor too.

Would you recommend other kids put it on their Christmas list?

Yes, it’s a great toy and I love playing with it.

  • Getting my new baby brother or sister in December.
  • What are you asking Santa for this year?

  • Corn field.
  • Drone.
  • Metal detector.
  • Tractor and loader and a digger and trailer.
  • Surprise.
  • Tell us about your toy

It’s a John Deere 9620RX tractor, it is on four tracks and is articulated. It has two beacons on the cab and its door opens – the bonnet of the tractor also opens so you can see the engine.

What did you like about it?

I liked the fact that it is a John Deere and I already have a John Deere square baler to work on the back of it.

Would you recommend other kids put it on their Christmas list?

Yes I would, as it’s very new to the market. I have not seen it in shops before.

What score would you give the toy out of 10?

    10 out of 10.

    Tell us about your toy

It’s a Berg John Deere mini buggy. It’s a great yoke.

What did you like about it?

It’s pretty easy to pedal and it also has an adjustable seat that you can move up and down, depending on the length of your legs. It has big wheels which makes it easy to steer.

Would you recommend other kids put it on their Christmas list?

Yes, it’s a great job. You need a smooth surface to pedal on, but it’s easy enough to manoeuvre. There is also a great lock on the wheels.

What score would you give the toy out of 10?

    10 out of 10.

The Bruder New Holland and Abbey slurry tank –JKC Toymaster, Nenagh

    Jamie and Danny Ryan, Tipperary.

    What’s your name?

I’m Jamie (6) and this is my brother Danny, who turned four on Monday this week.

    Where do you live?

    Bouladuff, Thurles, Co Tipperary.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to be a dairy farmer and Danny wants to be a sheep and a calf farmer.

What are you looking forward to most this Christmas?

My Christmas presents and Danny is looking forward to a New Holland.

What are you asking Santa for this year?

Just three things – a cultivator, a silage harvester and a silage trailer. I got a cattle shed last year. Danny is getting a watch, a teddy bear and maybe a jeep.

    Tell us about your toy

It’s a New Holland tractor with a sliding door in the roof, where you can put in a steering wheel and steer from the outside. The Abbey slurry tank has a double axle, so it’s big.

What did you like about it?

Good to have back linkage on the tractor that can move up and down. It’s good that the porthole in the tanker opens and also that the tractor door opens.

Would you recommend other kids put it on their Christmas list?

Yes it’s fine – now maybe if you wanted a loader on the tractor it’s not great. Only one door opens on this tractor, on my other tractor both open!

What score would you give the toy out of 10?

I’d give it 7 out of 10 – the door that opens is a bit weak and the beacon keeps coming off. I think the cab is a bit small to put someone into it.

What are you looking forward to most this Christmas?

Putting up the Christmas tree and opening my Christmas presents from Santa.

I want a Paw Patrol tower and Lego.

    Tell us about your toy

It’s so cool, I love the tractor and tiny vegetables to plant in the dough. I love sprinkling the glitter to make my vegetables grow and my animals really like the hay bales. My farmer is always so busy making the farm fun for the animals, but he doesn’t like to mix the dough up.

What did you like about it?

I like the dough because it smells so nice and I like being a farmer. My daddy said I used my fork good to make holes to put the vegetables in my dough and the animals liked to eat them.

Would you recommend other kids put it on their Christmas list?

Yes. It’s so fun and I like to play with it all the time. My sister kept wanting to play with it so I asked my daddy to get her one of her own!

What score would you give the toy out of 10?

I give it a great great big 10 out of 10!

The Irish Farmers Journal team would like to thank all out toy suppliers this year.
