With just over 40 lots catalogued for the sale, it was a case of quality over quantity, which was reflected in both the prices paid and the overall clearance rate on the night at well over 90%. There was a good interest from both ringside and online via the MartBids platform throughout the sale.
In all, the hoggets averaged €638/head, while three ewe lambs averaged €467 with a top price of €540 paid for a ewe lamb from Justin Porter, Carrigans, Lifford, Co Donegal.
Topping the sale was lot 10 from Jonathon and Ivor Kee, Finn Valley Texels, Ballybofey, Co Donegal, with a hogget by Baby Guinness and in lamb with a single to Glenparke Bravado, the hammer finally falling at €1,080. The family enjoyed a successful sale with five hoggets averaging €796/head.
