Kerrygold Park, the Ornua butter manufacturing facility at Michelstown, Co Cork, is set to expand. Ornua board approval for a €40m investment that would allow for higher capacity and more product lines looks set to happen. However, there are a number of hurdles to jump before development starts, including securing planning permission.
If the development takes place, it will create another 30 jobs at the facility. It is likely to be a number of years before this development is operational if it gets the go ahead.
A spokesperson for Ornua confirmed that the organisation is preparing a planning application to expand Kerrygold Park to meet growing global demand.
