Speaking at the Irish Grain Growers Group seminar on Tuesday, Department of Agriculture official Niall Ryan confirmed the outline of the straw incorporation scheme, as reported in the Irish Farmers Journal.
“What I mean by incorporating is discing the straw in,” he said, adding that the situation for no-till farmers “is being looked at”.
“If the scheme is oversubscribed the Department will have to rank and select,” he stated, but no details on that are to hand yet.
