18 January: Bajazet, Co Donegal

The Irish National Opera, together with Irish Baroque Orchestra and musical artist Peter Whelan, is presenting Vivaldi’s Bajazet in Letterkenny this January. There is plenty of drama in this thriller, which becomes even more intense with the strong musical accompaniment. 21 January: Here Come The Girls, Co Louth

This concert is promising to be a celebration of some of the greatest female musicians of our time. Eleven tribute bands will take centre stage at An Táin Arts Centre in Dundalk. The show will tribute musicians like Lady Gaga, Abba, Cher, Madonna and Blondie. What could be more fun on a Friday night than singing and dancing along to some great classics? 22 January: Bosco’s Garden and Hansel and Gretel, Co Wicklow

Looking for some family fun this January? The well-known TV star Bosco is making an appearance in Wicklow’s Mermaid Arts Centre and has lots of fun in store. For 75 minutes, kids will be entertained in this interactive puppet show. The story of Hansel and Gretel will be performed and kids can follow the two characters as they outsmart the silly old witch. 29 January: Sorry For Your Loss, Co Waterford

This comedy show will have you in stitches in the Theatre Royal. Set in Bannion, a rural village in Donegal where nothing ever happens, sisters Barbara and Alice get some news: their uncle Paddy from Australia has died. What ensues is an Irish wake, secrets and questions about inheritance come to light with plenty of drama to go around.
