Wheat in Tipperary
John Kennedy harvesting winter wheat wholecrop for Jerry Moloney at Tulla, Capparoe, Co Tipperary. Wheat was sown after the harvesting of maize last October and discing will take place in the coming days before Redstart will be directly drilled into the stubble and grazed from November to February by weanlings. Maize will then be sown again next April ensuring three crops off the field within two years. The moisture content of the wheat was 35%, yielding 11t to the acre. \ Odhran Ducie
