A large number of Tirlán suppliers have returned milk statements they received in error to the co-op.
“A track and retrieve process was implemented based on guidelines on best practice for dealing with incidents of this nature to retrieve the milk statements as swiftly as possible,” a spokesperson for Tirlán told the Irish Farmers Journal.
“As part of this process, suppliers impacted by this regrettable incident were directly contacted by phone and received a prepaid envelope to return the statement relating to another supplier.

“A large number of suppliers have already returned the statement on receipt of the prepaid envelope. Tirlán would like to thank our suppliers for working with us to retrieve the statements.”
An investigation is continuing with Tirlán’s third-party printing and mailing provider to establish the root cause of this incident. The spokesperson added that Tirlán has reprinted the August milk statements and posted them to suppliers.
