Like a Gandhi of the midlands, Longford IFA chair Seán Conefrey extended the hand of peace at a meeting last week. Conefrey invited former ICMSA president Pat O’Rourke to speak about the burgeoning GM and antibiotic-free weanling trade between Ireland and Italy.

This is the first time a former ICMSA president has spoken at an IFA meeting since Jackie Cahill spoke at the Tipperary north IFA AGM in February.
