I note with interest that Con Lucey has stepped down from the Irish Farmers’ Association’s audit committee. The Clareman was the organisation’s chief economist for more than 30 years, and is universally respected across the length and breadth of the organisation. Since his retirement in 2008, Con has maintained strong links with the organisation, including his presence on the audit committee, a small but important grouping within the IFA structure.
