Local gardaí told the Irish Farmers Journal that the accident happened outside New Ross early in the morning and involved no other vehicle.

The driver escaped injury and there was “no serious damage apart from a bad smell”. Most of the slurry was pumped out of the overturned tank and the rest washed off the road by Wexford County Council.

Tractor driving and slurry spreading are among the routine tasks farmers are urged to assess for safety during the annual Farm Safety Week starting next Monday.
