Farmyards being stripped in what looked like robberies to order. Tens of thousands of euro worth of property stolen and tens of thousands more being spent on security measures. Many of their stories had already been documented in the Irish Farmers Journal and will be discussed by Mairead Lavery, along with the sharp decrease in the number of people who know their local Gardaí.

Rural crime has been seriously disrupting people's lives, as evident from a public meeting with over 1,500 attendees on the issue last Thursday.
