Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed today announced its first progress report, entitled Steps to Success, which focuses on the work done in year one of the programme.
As part of the plan, Teagasc recently established a Meat Technology Centre, which hosts research and innovation in the meat processing sector.
This was one of the 28% of the proposed actions reported to have been accomplished, while another 67% have begun.

Future plans
Next year, the Department of Agriculture will be focusing on improving grassland management for use and profitability, while also planning a year long programme of special events focusing on sustainable grass fed production.
