Northern Ireland poultry processor Moy Park, which is owned by Brazilian meat giant JBS, has confirmed that it does not source any of its products from plants connected to the Brazilian meat corruption investigation.

A Moy Park spokesperson told the Irish Farmers Journal: “We do not source products from any of the sites involved in the ongoing investigations in Brazil.”

She continued: “We have in place robust food safety and quality assurance procedures for all of our raw materials, irrespective of source.”

Moy Park was taken over by JBS in 2015, when the Northern Ireland processor was bought for €1.3bn by JBS from another Brazilian company, Marfrig.

Some 800 farmers supply Moy Park, including 600 in Northern Ireland.
