Stubbs Gazette lists the €2,937,915 judgment against Davide and Paolo Garavelli of Kilmaglish House, Knockdrin, Mullingar, Co Westmeath, among the latest registered with the courts.

Registration of a judgment and its publication in Stubbs Gazette is an option offered to creditors as part of the debt enforcement process, to publicise the fact that there is a judgment against the debtor.

Creditors must give debtors an opportunity to pay before registering a judgment, which implies that the Garavelli brothers have rejected a request for payment from HSBC since the judgment.

The High Court ruled last October that TLT International, the cattle trading business owned by the Garavellis, had breached a finance agreement with HSBC Invoice Finance (UK) Limited. The court further found that Davide and Paolo Garavelli had given personal undertakings to the bank that their company would correctly operate the finance agreement, and were therefore liable to pay €2.9m in damages to the bank.
