Angus

Angus Classes were judged by Albert De Cogan, Castlemartyr, Co Cork. Champion Angus went to Tom Reynolds, Johnstown Bridge, Bornacoola, Co Longford, with his October 2014-born heifer Knockadrinan Blackbird 599, below.

Reserve Champion Angus went to Michael Horan, Knockmore, Ballina, Co Mayo, with his October 2013-born heifer Coolcran Kenzie.

Friesian

Champion Friesian went to Austin Scott, Mohill, Co Leitrim, with Killdoo Emmile II Meg, below.

Reserve champion went to Jerome Smith, Kilnaleck, Co Cavan.

Simmental

Simmental classes were judged by John McInerney, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Co Clare. Champion Simmental went to Clonguish Elegant sired by Milton Lord Tiffany owned by the McGarry Family, Caldra, Longford, below.

Reserve Simmental champion went to Hugh and Sarah Murray, Moate, Co Westmeath, with their October 2014-born bull Shiloh Forever Royal, below.

Shorthorn

Shorthorn classes were judged by Henry Dudley, Thurles, Co Tipperary. Champion Shorthorn went to father and daughter team Noel and Lisa Dowd, Creggs, Co Galway, with Cregga Gypsy with her heifer calf Cregga Lacy at foot. Gypsy is no stranger to success having won the all-Ireland beef Shorthorn cow title at Bonniconlon Show, below.

Reserve champion Shorthorn went to the Craig family Coolarty, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford, with Mohill Gemma, their two-year-old heifer, below. Sired by Dovea Sir James, this heifer has been very successful for the Craig Family having won the All-Ireland pedigree interbreed Suckler heifer Competition in Claremorris Show.

Hereford

Hereford classes were judged by Henry Dudley, Thurles, Co Tipperary. Champion Hereford went to Ivor and Colin Anderson, Killeshandra, Co Cavan, with Glasslough Levi, their three-year-old stock bull sired by Killcormac Issac, below.

Reserve champion Hereford went to Basil Arnold with Mullaghdoo Elite.

Belgian Blue

Belgian Blue Classes were judged by John McInerney, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Co Clare. Champion Belgian Blue went to George Hagerty, Longford.

Reserve Champion went to Jason Teague, Colehilll, Longford.

Limousin

Limousin Classes were judged by John McInerney, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Co Clare. Champion Limousin went to Owen Hester, Castlerea, Co Roscommon with his heifer Meelickaduff Honda, below. This December 2012-born heifer is sired by Wilodge Vantastic and by French dam Etole. This followed on from her success at Swinford Show the previous day, where she took home Interbreed champion.

Reserve Champion went to the Richardson Family Newtowngore, Co Leitrim, with their March 2014-born Commander heifer.

Charolais

Champion Charolais went to the McGovern Brothers from Fivemilebourne, Co Sligo, with Goldstar Hayley, below. Hayley is a daughter of Goldstar Echo. This two-and-a-half-year-old heifer has had a successful summer show season, securing top honours at many shows.

Reserve champion went to Victoria Kells from Killashandra, Co Cavan. With Dalehill Jasper is sired by Prime Roberto.

Sagesse Leonie was tapped forward as female calf champion at the midland and western club calf championships. Owned by Brendan and Niall Canning Rosses Point, Co Sligo. Leonie is a daughter of Lisnagre Elite.

Aughnasheelin Jaguar, owned by Michael McGirl, Aughnasheelin, Co Leitrim, was judged reserve female calf champion. Jaguar is sired by Goldstar Echo.

Male calf champion and reserve male calf champion at the midland and western club calf championships were, respectively, Carrowkeel Jerome and Carrowkeel Jude. Owned by Thomas and Cathal Gormley from Elphin, Co Roscommon, Jerome is sired by Inverlochy Gurkha. Jude is sired by Goldstar Echo.

Commercial Champion

Commercial Champion went to Maxwell brothers Castlerea with their heifer Midnight Express sired by BYU, below. This heifer is no stranger to the show ring having picked up many champion titles up and down the country over the summer.

Reserve champion went to Gene McGann, Julienstown, Co Meath, with his heifer Penny who is sired by FL25, below. She followed on from her success the previous day in Swinford where she took the All-Ireland suckler-type heifer title.

In the All-Ireland suckler cow class, first place went to Byrne brothers, Kilcar, Co Donegal. Second went to the Maxwell Brothers, Castlerea, Co Roscommon. Third went to Tim O’Donovan, Dunmanaway, Co Cork.

Young Handlers

The girls’ class was won by Sarah Murray, Shiloh, Parkwood, Moate, Co Westmeath, below.

First place in the boys’ class went to Conor Craig, Edgewardstown, Co Longford, below.

Second place went to John Smyth, Oldcastle, Co Meath. Third place went to Owen Hester, Castlerea, Co Roscommon.
