Weather forecast

It will be cold and frosty at first this morning, especially in the east. Cloud will increase over Connacht and west Munster to produce a little light rain or drizzle there, but elsewhere it will be a dry day with variable cloud and sunshine. Top temperatures will range from 6°C to 9°C in light to moderate southeasterly breezes, fresh along Atlantic coasts.

Two businessmen were arrested in Dublin this week over alleged investment fraud and money laundering arising from the sale of Irish forestry land. Meanwhile, an attack on a flock of ewes in Co Tipperary has left farmers very worried as we approach the lambing season.
