Over €1,500 of agricultural equipment and power tools were taken from a farm in the Longford area last weekend.
Cattle clippers, a chainsaw, 25 litres of oil and three angle grinders were among the plethora of equipment stolen from the farm. The alarm was raised when the farmer noticed the lock on his shed had been interfered with.
According to the Longford Leader, the incident occurred on Clondra near Termonbarry, 10 minutes from Longford town.

Gardaí are currently investigating the incident which happened between 8.45pm Friday night and 8.30am Saturday morning.

IFA regional development officer for the region Adrian Leddy urged farmers to take all the necessary steps possible to protect their property.
“We would encourage all farmers to take all the precautions and care to protect their property and premises. Ensure that everything is secure and locked up to avoid this activity if at all possible,” Leddy said.
