I hear rumblings that next year’s National Ploughing Championships could make a return to Screggan, Tullamore. It will be the third year in a row that the championships will be held there, should the site get the green light.
There are further unconfirmed rumours that Ploughing bosses are considering taking out a five-year lease on the site.
I expect Anna May McHugh to make the announcement on next year’s venue at the 2017 prize-giving ceremony at the Bridge House Hotel next month, like she did last year.
