A total of 41 three-year-old Donegal Blackface sheep were stolen from a farm in the Glaneasky area, near Dromore West, Co Sligo, last week.
“The sheep were all tagged and have distinctive rusty and bright red marks on their shoulders. They were taken either last Wednesday or Thursday. We were at the Ploughing on the Thursday and realised that night that they were gone,” owner Niall Connor told the Irish Farmers Journal.
Niall said that a €2,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the recovery of the sheep. He said that the ewes were grazing a mountain area at the time, meaning that the thieves had to have been properly prepared to carry out the theft.
