Following the success of last year’s festival, 35,000 visitors are set to congregate for Taste of Cavan this weekend.

Food lovers and families alike can enjoy two days of demonstrations, exhibitions and the best of provenance. This year’s action-packed programme includes appearances from leading Irish chefs such as Neven Maguire, Gearoid Lynch, Kevin Dundon, Rachel Allan and many more.

From chocolates to meats, to Irish craft beer, and over 100 stalls from local producers, the Taste of Cavan is set to satisfy all pallets.

Speaking about making his first appearance at Taste of Cavan this year, Kevin Dundon said: “This two-day festival will celebrate all that is good in Cavan and showcase the wealth of excellent produce available in the country, a fantastic festival for all the family.”

Taking centre stage at the festival this year is the Medieval Village, with knights on horseback, butter and cheese making, and demonstrations from Boyd Rankin, Irish Arms weapon master and adviser on hit TV show Game of Thrones.

With stunning views, drama festivals, live music venues and a host of golfing and fishing resorts, Cavan can be described as a holistic experience for all those in attendance.

Admission to the festival is €5 and children under 12 going free.
