New tractor, trailer and agricultural machinery regulations came into effect on 1 January, after being signed into law over 18 months previously.
Part of the new rules are that plated tractors and trailer combinations are now able to operate at higher weight limits of up to 24t and 34t for tandem- and tri-axle agricultural trailers respectively, provided they meet certain additional requirements.
In this video, Darren Bailey talks us through the new regulations, from lighting and reflective requirements to the type of axle that is now standard on most trailers.
