There was an even enough split between bullocks and weanling bulls, with prices for these running from €200 to €650 with the €/kg.
Angus and Hereford cross bullocks over 18 months were selling for €1.84/kg to €2.10/kg, with continentals rising above this price range – especially if they were suckler bred stock.

Calves
Calf numbers are rising, with over 180 on offer on Friday. Dairy farmers’ early breeding season patterns were beginning to show, with Friesian bulls being the predominant type for sale.
Friesian bull calves made from €70 to €130.
Hereford and Angus calves were not far behind Friesians number wise. They sold from €200 to €340 for bull calves, with Angus and Hereford heifers ranging from €180 to €310.
Continental calves were thin on the ground and made up to €420.
Cows
There was continued demand for cull cows, with a good supply of well-fleshed stock available. Very few cows sold for under €1/kg and a significant proportion of what was on offer sold for between €1.20/kg and €1.35/kg, with some exceeding this. Dry cows made from €15 under up to €435 over the €/kg.
