There was 80 bullocks on offer – lighter stores made up most of what was on offer.

Angus and Hereford cross bullocks in the main made between €1.95/kg and €2.20/kg with continentals crosses from the dairy herd making an extra 10c/kg to 15c/kg.

Friesians were scarce and sold from €1.60/kg to €1.70/kg. Forward bullocks were also thin on the ground with the few lots available selling well.

  • One Limousin 425kg: €970, €2.28/kg.
  • One Hereford 450kg: €940, €2.09/kg.
  • One Friesian 500kg: €810, €1.62/kg.
  • One Angus 440kg: €900, €2.05/kg.
  • Heifers

    Heifers were in short supply but there was a very strong demand for what was on offer especially forward stores.

    Overall they made between €275 and €590 with their weight.

  • Four Hereford 340kg: €780, €2.29/kg.
  • One Belgian blue 425kg: €940, €2.21/kg.
  • One Limousin 510kg: €1,100, €2.16/kg.
  • Six Angus 544kg: €1,110, €2.04/kg.
  • These March 2015-born heifers weighed 544kg and sold for €1,110 (€2.04/kg).

    Cows

    There was 33 cows available with well-fleshed Friesian cows making up the majority of what was on offer.

    There remains a very steady trade for these type of cows with most of what was on offer selling for between €250 and €400 with their weight.
