An Irish Farmers Journal survey has found that by year-end of 2016, 2,622 jobs, 148 seasonal roles and 21 internships will have been filled across 73 agri-companies.

According to the agri-jobs survey, some 55 of those companies estimate that they will create 1,090 jobs, 150 seasonal roles and 20 internships between them in 2017. Some of the major agri-recruiters in 2016 were Kerry Group, the Department of Agriculture, Teagasc, FRS, Kepak, Dawn Meats, IFAC, McHale and Carroll’s Cuisine.

Teagasc, for example, filled 140 roles this year and is one to watch again for 2017 as it says it plans to fill 113 roles next year.
