A memorandum of understanding has been signed for the trade of 500 tonnes of milk powder every month for the next six months.

The powder will come from Ongle Dairy and Indian media are expecting the agreed shipments to increase in the coming months.

Ongole Dairy has also signed an agreement to supply 15,000 litres of milk to Mother Dairy, Delhi.

The news comes shortly after China's food safety watchdog recalls Shaanxi baby milk powders following the detection of excessive nitrate levels in some powdered milk samples.

The company is based in Andhra Pradesh and has a milk processing capacity of 20,000 tonnes of milk powder per day. It also supplies 50,000 litres to regular district customer.

  • Butter milk

  • Curd

  • Doodh peda (a type of sweet dessert)
