A circa 61-acre residential farm at Toames West, Macroom, Co Cork, is going for auction on Wednesday 17 August at the Castle Hotel, Macroom, Co Cork.

The land is currently under permanent pasture and is described as gently sloping or level in most parts.

Located in a strong farming area, there are both beef and dairy farmers in the area who this may appeal to. Also included on the property is a 1,500sq ft traditional farmhouse that is in need of renovation. The residence is accessed by a long private laneway. The land has not been intensively farmed in the past, with dry cattle kept at low stocking rates. The majority of the land, circa 50 acres or so, is described as premium quality with the balance in rough grazing. The farm is serviced by a private well and it also comes with just under €4,500 worth of entitlements.

The property is being offered in two lots or the entire. The residence on circa 3.3 acres is being guided at €100,000 while the remaining circa 58 acres is guided at €350,000.

The entire is currently priced between €450,000 and €500,000.

To date, the land has received a good level of interest and auctioneer Killian Lynch is hopeful this will carry over to a successful auction.
