€8,000/acre in Waterford

76 acres of good ground is coming up for auction tomorrow. The property, located in Knockroe, Lismore, Co Waterford, is selling at a guide of circa €600,000/ €8,000/acre.

In grassland for the last number of years, the good-quality free-draining soil ensures this parcel is productive. Well fenced and with water supplied by a mains, the land has been previously used for beef. It also has extensive road frontage to the N72. While the holding is non-residential, it has a range of farm buildings present. Two back-to-back lean-tos for cattle are situated on a wholly concreted yard area. Practical and spacious, the yard also contains a machinery shed for storage. Centrally located, the area and some of the shed could do with some TLC and investment.

Offered only in the entire, there has been quite a bit of interest in the holding already. According to the auctioneer handling the sale, Daniel Fleming of Blarney, Co Cork, he believes the ground has the potential for just about any enterprise.

The property will go to public auction tomorrow, 10 November, at the Grand Hotel, Fermoy, Co Cork at 3pm.
