A 55.7-acre farm at Kiltullagh, Athenry, Co Galway, was withdrawn at €400,000 at last week’s public auction.

It’s understood that some fresh interest has emerged since the auction. Selling agent Colm Farrell, Gort, is currently offering the farm for sale by private treaty and is in talks with a number of interested parties.

Situated close to Kiltullagh village, the farm is described as “top quality” and comes to the market with a range of farm buildings, including a large slatted shed, suitable to accommodate 200 cattle, which contains 48 cubicle spaces, calving pens and cattle handling facilities.

The property was guided in the region of €475,000 prior to auction.

On the same day, Colm also offered a 33-acre residential holding at Lurgan, Loughrea, Co Galway.

This package includes a single-storey residence, a derelict stone cottage and a three-bay hayshed with lean-to.

The property was withdrawn at last week’s public auction and is now for sale by private treaty.

It was guided in the region of €295,000 prior to auction.

An 84-acre non-residential farm has just arrived on the market at Feeragh, Belclare, Co Galway.

Part of the former Keville estate, the property is situated in a popular farming area and, given the fact that it comes in one 84-acre block, is expected to generate interest from those looking for a sizeable unit in the vicinity or indeed from further afield.

According to agent Martin Tyrrell, Tuam, it’s unusual for a farm of this size to arrive on the market in north Galway.

For sale by auction on Friday 30 September in the Anglers Rest, Headford, at 4pm, the property is keenly priced at €7,000/acre or circa €590,000.

Approached from a private road, the farm is laid out in good-sized fields that have been used over the years to graze cattle and sheep. Described as “good quality grazing ground”, the farm is well located, just seven miles from Tuam and Headford.

Elsewhere, the same agent is handling the sale of a 20-acre roadside parcel of land at Kilcloghans, Tuam. Currently in grass, the land is laid out in one block and is just 1.5 miles from Tuam. For sale by private treaty, it is guided at €8,000/acre.
