This week, the Northeastern Limousin Club set about judging its annual herd competition, viewing over 40 herds in the process. The winners of the small, medium and large herds will be announced this Friday 1 July. Also taking place on the night is an elite embryo auction, with five of the most in-demand embryos, some of which haven’t being made available yet, being put up on offer.
Some matings include Ampertaine Elgin on three-time Balmoral interbreed champion Millbrook Gingerspice and a same mating cross as the €28,000 Irish record price Kilcor Iceman, to name just two. Tickets for the night are available at €20 from committee members Philip 086-074 3931 Eddie 086-822 9210 or Noel on 086- 879 8538.
