Tractor sales have remained constant for the last two years. The Celtic Tiger years of numbers of up to 5,000 units sold in a year are a distant memory. However, commuting to Dublin today there is a noticeable increase in traffic volume, suggesting that the country is again a busy place. Many people are commuting from rural Ireland for work, and also working part-time on the family farm.

This puts money back into the system for modernisation of the farm. Our analysis of county tractor sales shows the balance has shifted west. The sales of 100-120hp tractors, along Ireland’s west coast, has been a major factor in maintaining the figures for 2016.

Also this week, Keenan’s has announced its collaboration with Italian feeder wagon specialist Storti. This will give the company direct access to a tub and self-propelled feeder for customers. The alliance should see the Italian manufacturer use the Keenan InTouch and Pace technology on its machines.
