With a combined entry of over 110 pedigree cattle catalogued across six beef breeds, Carrick-on-Shannon is the biggest multi-breed sale of the Autumn season. Unlike other pedigree cattle sales, there was no pre-sale show held in advance of the sale but this did not deter potential customers with quality lots achieving premium prices.

Angus

The overall sale topper, across all breeds, came from the Aberdeen Angus section, with Henry Dudley, Templemore, Co. Tipperary selling Killea Pinky Pie M009 for €3,600. This December 2012 born heifer is sired by Mogeely Joe and was scanned in calf to the promising new AI bull Beryl Jamie.
