It has emerged that a potentially illegal dumping of deer has been found in the Wicklow mountains earlier this week. It was discovered by a hill walker and the incident is being investigated by the Wicklow county council after it was reported to An Garda Siochana. Images of the site show a large number of carcases. The images were circulated by the Wild Deer Association of Ireland.
"I am not aware of this particular incident but the Wicklow deer management partnership condemns all and any illegal activity concerning deer," said Declan O'Neill, chairman of the Wicklow deer partnership. "The Wicklow deer management partnership is committed to the sustainable management of deer in Wicklow."
