John Gunne from Milltown, Belturbet, Co. Cavan is appealing for any information that may lead to the safe recovery of 28 of his sheep.

The 28 full-mouthed ewes were a mixture of breeds including Texel, Sufflolk, Hilltex and some crossbred.

“They just seem to have disappeared without a trace” John Gunne said. “We got a drone in to fly the area to see if they would have wandered into local forests but nothing showed up.
“No neighbours saw any suspicious activity but at this stage I think they were stolen.
“The ewes were all marked with red or blue marks on their necks.
If anybody has any information please contact John Gunne on 087 6333508 or Ballyconnell Garda Station on 049 9525580
