Arla signs three-year contract with Asda for own-brand milk and cream
Arla Foods, owned by Arla Co-op, the third largest co-op in the world, has signed a new three year contract to supply 1.5bn litres of own-brand milk to British supermarket giant Asda.
In addition to the new contract, Asda will increase its support by extending its Dairylink groups, where it has been working directly with Arla farmers owners to improve animal welfare, reducing carbon footprint and increasing efficiency on farms.
Martin Evans, chair of Dairylink and an Arla farmer, said: “The continual support that Asda has shown to Arla farmers across the board should be commended. Life on farms is extremely tough at the moment and this news is exactly what our farmers need.”
