The board of Arrabawn co-op met on Thursday. It decided to increase its price by 1c/l. Arrabawn's price for May milk is 30.98c/l excluding VAT at 3.6% fat and 3.3% protein.

The boards of Glanbia, Lakeland, Carbery and Kerry have also decided to increase their May milk price.

The increase in milk production, coupled with an increase in milk prices, will mean that dairy farmers are set to receive an extra €80m in their May milk cheque compared with the same month last year.
