Arrabawn has increased its milk price for August supplies to 1c/l, increasing the base price to 34.06c/l, excluding VAT.

Carbery also announced on Friday that it would be increasing its price by 1c/l.

Aurivo announced a 1c/l increase on August supplies, along with a 1c/l bonus. This brought the price to 34.63c/l, excluding VAT.

Other co-ops

It is the latest processor to set a price, and this news comes after Kerry Group announced a 1c/l increase to 34.06c/l on Friday.

Dairygold decided to increase its milk price by 1.5c/l, meaning that for milk supplied to the co-op in August, farmers will receive a payment of 34.15c/l (excluding VAT. This also includes a quality bonus of 0.5c/l.

Earlier this week, Glanbia and Lakeland increased their August prices by 1c/l, bringing prices to 33.11c/l and 33.47c/l, respectively.

PPI

Meanwhile, higher butter and cheese returns, and flat to weaker returns for powders and proteins, saw the Ornua purchase price index (PPI) increase earlier this week.

Ornua’s purchase price index (PPI) rose for August to 111.

This is up from 110.1 in July.

A PPI of 111 is the equivalent to a farmgate milk price of 31.78c/litre (excluding VAT).
