This means growth needs to peak at the same time. Make sure you have enough nitrogen spread. Most of our BETTER demo farms have between 50 and 70 units/acre spread on their grazing ground at this stage to boost growth to meet demand.

Application needs to be tailored to meet your stocking rate. If you feel you have excess grass, don’t be afraid to close extra fields for silage or take the excess grass out as bales. Don’t forget about P and K and any paddocks that are low should get a compound application or some slurry to help lift indexes and increase fertiliser efficiency.
