There was an extremely small entry of cattle at the annual Bansha Show today with just one or two entries in some of the classes.

Helena Fitzgerald, Piltown, Co Kilkenny claimed the top prize of the day in the cattle section at Bansha Show with her Belgian Blue pedigree heifer, Pinnacle Hardy. This three-year-old senior heifer has won many championships on the pedigree circuit over the last two show seasons.

William Gubbins, Kilfinane, Co Limerick took the reserve inter-breed championship with a 2016 born Charolais X bullock. This young calf is out a Limousin X cow and was the second 1st prizewinner of the day for the Gubbins family.

No individual breed championships were awarded at Bansha Show today, instead the 1st prize winners in each class, across all breeds, were invited to compete in the overall inter-breed championship of the show.
