Jordan Auctioneers is handling the private sale of a 158-acre grazing farm at Friarhill, Man O’War, Dunlavin, on the Wicklow/Kildare border. Currently in permanent pasture, the land is laid out in a number of fields that are surrounded by mature timber boundaries and hedges. Reported to be well-fenced, the land is believed to contain substantial shale deposits and water is supplied from both a mains and private source.

The property comes with a range of farm buildings that include slatted and cubicle accommodation for 150 head, a seven-bay hayshed, a straw bedded shed, sheep-handling facilities and a dipping area. The residence is a derelict two-storey house in need of complete refurbishment.

For sale in one or three lots that include two lots of 54 acres each located at Friarhill and the farmyard on 50 acres (at Man O’War), the property is for sale by private treaty through Jordan Auctioneer, Newbridge, at a guide price of €7,500/acre or almost €1.2 million.

The farm is situated off the main Dunlavin/Hollywood road and is 5.5 miles from Kilcullen and three miles from Ballymore Eustace.

34 acres for sale near Grangecon

Meanwhile, the same agent is handling the sale of a 34-acre parcel of land at Ballynure, Grangecon, Co Wicklow. Organically farmed over the years, this property comes with full organic status and is currently sown to Italian ryegrass and red clover. With dual frontage to two roads, the land is just outside the village of Grangecon and it’s suggested that it would make a nice site for a house subject to the appropriate planning permission. The property will be auctioned on Thursday 24 July in the Keadeen Hotel, Newbridge and the guide price is €10,000/acre.

Four new REA offices

Property network, Real Estate Alliance (REA), has announced the addition of four new offices to its national portfolio.

Although having over 50 branches nationwide – comprising many of the country’s longest-established auctioneers and estate agents – the group recently unveiled new offices in Clonmel, Westport, Naas and Monaghan.

“We are delighted to have these new members on board and they represent the type of firm which Real Estate Alliance is proud to be associated with – experienced, professional and qualified,” said REA CEO Philip Farrell.

“Members enjoy the fact that Real Estate Alliance is different from other property groups. They can tap in to the wealth of knowledge within the group, which is particularly useful in valuation work.”

The new agents include REA Stokes & Quirke in Clonmel, REA Olivia Needham in Westport, while REA Brophy Farrell has opened a new office in Naas, in addition to its Newbridge premises. REA Gunne Property has also opened up a new office in Monaghan in addition to its current office in Dundalk.
